5 Ingredient Chocolate Protein Popsicles

Today's recipe is sweet and simple. It's adapted from one of my favorite smoothie recipes! Did you ever make too much smoothie and you didn't want to eat it all in one sitting? Yep, this is where our recipe was born.

Ice pop molds are awesome to have around the house -- you never know when you may need one! They are a necessary item in the summer in our household. Popsicles for DAYS!

You may also be interested in this recipe because it has some protein powder sprinkled in there. I try to get protein powder that doesn't taste chalky or gritty, but I know that it can be a process. In the past, I've tried Sunwarrior brand and Garden of Life brand. Both are good choices. If you want more protein dessert in your life, check out these Peanut Butter Protein Brownies!

Also, if you prefer nuts over avocado, these fudge pops might just be up your alley. But the avocado is tasteless in this recipe, FYI.

And if you need a little booze in this recipe, add in a little vanilla-infused bourbon. A little vanilla always helps out in the flavor department!

Chocolate Protein Popsicles: Gluten-free & Vegan
2 large bananas, frozen
1/2 of a ripe avocado
3 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 T. protein powder
2 1/2 c. almond milk, or other non-dairy milk

Blend all of the ingredients in your blender -- puree until smooth. This is one of my favorite smoothies, so feel free to drink some immediately. As is, this recipe makes about 12 popsicles. If you have a glass of smoothie before filling the pop molds, you'll obviously have less :-)

Allow the pops to freeze for about 3 hours before trying to wiggle them out.

Enjoy these pops and have a smoothie on the go!

Cheers,
